Expert Guidance for Complex & High-Profile Projects

This service is most valuable for clients who have a high-profile, or complex project, or for those who are not internally staffed to manage the various industry disciplines and their respective nuances simultaneously.
Throughout the project, HCMC will be the advocate of the Client, ensuring that the client’s goals are heard and understood, and the project runs smoothly, is built per plan, on schedule, and on budget. We can perform an in-depth review of all potential changes and forecast any design and construction issues that could create a ‘ripple effect’ that may increase the budget and schedule.

TODAYS CHALLENGES ARE MANY

In today’s economic times there are greater pressures on contractors, vendors and transportation entities than ever before, making the construction industry more challenging each day. Growing technical complexity, economic risks and constantly updating building codes are much more complex and demanding, and working with the various City, County & State Authorities have become increasingly difficult.

HCMC helps clients navigate these issues and minimizes potentially devastating problems, and doing so requires diligence, knowledge, and working closely with the people involved. HCMC is expertly positioned to handle the demands and challenges to make your project successful.

Clients Testimonials

Sam Hodge (HCMC) was hired by Cura Group, FL as a Consultant from December 2022 to July 2025 to oversee a major exterior façade remediation project Cura had with Las Olas River House Condominium Association (LORH), as the Construction Manager. Sam’s knowledge of Construction Agreements was of great benefit in separating multiple LORH projects that Cura had under an earlier Agreement, into two (2) AIA - C132cm Agreements. Similarly with the contractor (Valcourt), he set up a series of Processes to aid in clarification of work performed, quantities, locations and tied them to Valcourt’s Fieldwide Software for Cura to verify, when needed, i.e., Pay Applications. These ‘Processes’ became the ‘Standard Operating Procedures’ for dealing with the various unique requirements of this type of project. Sam’s experience with various Construction Software programs also aided Cura to set up Procore as the company’s main Construction Management Software. Sam’s management style helped to develop a sense of partnership between the Client, Contractor, Engineer, and Cura...while maintaining Cura’s fiduciary responsibilities with the Client (LORH). Sam would be an asset if put in-charge of any Project or as the Construction Manager/Owners Rep for any Client.

"During my career, I have held various positions in construction management from Project Engineer to Project Manager to Project Director and back to Project Engineer. I consider myself well qualified to comment on the professional capabilities of my peers as well as their integrity and general character. In that connection I am pleased to note my impressions of Sam Hodge. For two years I have worked as a Project Engineer on a major casino/hotel project in Atlantic City, New Jersey. During that time, I have had several opportunities to work closely with Mr. Hodge in his capacity as Senior Project Manager. In the early stages of the structural steel phase of construction, it became necessary to modify the overall plan and reorganize several of the erection sequences. Sam’s extraordinary ability to analyze problems and outline appropriate courses of action enabled the work to be finished on schedule and saved the owner from a $10 million claim by the steel fabrication and erection subs by stepping in and taking control to work one-on-one between the parties. Often times I found myself collaborating with him by providing technical input during resolution of subcontractor disputes. His leadership and overall knowledge and experience were demonstrated by the way he addressed complicated issues in straightforward terms. During these sessions Sam’s professional behavior, attention to detail while keeping the essence of the problem well in sight, and maintaining a firm but fair attitude, commanded the respect of the participants and a willingness to resolve the issue at hand. Mr. Hodge would be an asset to any organization.

Victor V. Vespertino FASCE, Professional Engineer, Tishman Construction

"Sam joined our team at The Boca Raton as Senior Director of Construction in September 2020. His purview was oversight of the two general contractors engaged in the major renovation of the almost 100-year-old Resort. Sam has reported to Northview’s VP Design & Construction and directly to me. Sam is currently overseeing RCC Construction who are building one of the Resort’s restaurants, and Moss Construction who have the task of renovating all the major areas of the historic core building, plus the construction of a major water park on a four plus acre site that is part of the Resort. Sam is responsible for overseeing over $100m of complicated construction projects with many moving parts, and a tight timeframe. The drawings for these projects are evolving along with the projects, due to the compressed timeline, and the resulting complications are exacerbated by issues relating to Covid and its effect on supply chains. Sam has proven himself to be a skilled Senior Project Executive/Manager and Owner’s Representative. He is extremely knowledgeable and understands (and can improve on proposed) means and methods, interpretation of drawings, scheduling and organization strategy. His direct oversight of our GCs has resulted in finding efficiencies that were not obvious, better scheduling (through better sequencing to save time and money), and a focus on the change-order and pay app process, which has resulted in cost savings and clawbacks from the GCs. Sam has a great personality and has been a pleasure to have on our team. Bringing Sam on board was one of the better decisions I have personally made for the Project."

"It is with great pleasure to be providing a letter of recommendation for Sam Hodge. His professionalism and attention to detail has directly attributed to the progress of an extremely challenging project at Check Baggage Inspection System at Terminal 4 of the Fort Lauderdale International Airport. Despite the lack of accurate scheduling and direction from by the General Contractor, Sam was determined to keep the project moving in a direction that would result in successful completion. Along with his day-to-day activities, he applied his familiarity of contracts and construction law to protect our companies from losses and/or failure. Sam's knowledge and experience in the many duties that a Construction Manager has, have made him a critical ally and a team member I look forward to working with again."

"I am pleased to provide this letter of recommendation for Sam Hodge. It has been our pleasure to work alongside Sam at the Fort Lauderdale Terminal 4 Expansion Project at Fort Lauderdale International Airport. Sam has been successful in coordinating and managing this very complicated project in a very professional, reliable and exemplary manner. Being in the construction industry for over forty years and having worked on some of the largest projects, I find Sam to be by far one of the very best construction managers I have had the pleasure of working with. He is sure to be an asset to any company. Given the breadth and depth of his experience and knowledge, we are more than happy to recommend his professional services regardless of the size or complexity of the project."

Sam Hodge is a professional construction operations manager, who gives a lot of attention to detail. He knows the industry standards and often exceeds them in his meticulous planning. Sam operates well independently and is a self-starter. His maturity in the business of large building projects would make him an asset at several levels of responsibility.

Robert Ambridge Senior VP – Development & Construction, Turnberry Ltd.

"As Senior Estimator (Estimating Dept. Head), I had the pleasure to work with Sam for two years on The Borgata Hotel/Casino Project. Sam had the responsibility of overseeing all Low Rise Project Managers from site work through MEP. During this time, he earned the respect of both his staff and management. Sam took the initiative to organize and standardize contractor change order submittals. He successfully negotiated construction revisions resulting in over $15 million in savings for The Borgata. His devotion and energy guided the team to complete major milestones on time and within budget. The team, as well as the client, appreciated his in-depth construction management knowledge. I recommend him without reservation for any management position that he may decide to pursue. He will be a definite plus to any organization."

Gene Bove Chief Estimator, Tishman Construction

"I worked with Sam Hodge on the Borgata Casino project from design development, contract documentation and construction in Atlantic City, NJ during 2000 through 2002. When this joint venture of Boyd Gaming and MGM/Mirage is complete the cost of the project will exceed one billion dollars. Sam was primarily involved in the Low Rise & Parking Structure areas of the work as the project’s Senior Project Manager. His many duties included the casino gaming floor, multiple restaurants, a nightclub, theater, ball room, numerous bars & lounges, and the related back of house service facilities as well as the 4000 car parking structure. Sam's understanding of the complexity of the construction, the schedule, and his attention to detail necessary to move the project forward were ongoing, outstanding, and thorough. I would look forward to working with Sam in the future."

Lee Landis AIA, Senior Associate, BLT Architects

“I worked with Sam Hodge while I was Director of Facilities and Maintenance at the Marriott South Beach Hotel, during a very challenging major renovation in Miami Beach. This was made more difficult as the Hotel was to remain open and Ownership pushed for 100% occupancy throughout the project. Sam remained focused on the ‘guest experience’ while performing detailed coordination with our staff and the many subcontractors involved. The results were amazing and certainly brought new life back into a dated venue. I valued our time working together and would do so again without hesitation. Sam’s ability to keep his team highly motivated and positive while managing the many details required in this $12 million portion of the project was impressive. I would strongly recommend him for any management position.”

Jorge Mourelle Director of Engineering – The Ritz Carlton Hotel, Atlanta GA

It is my pleasure to recommend Hodge Construction Management & Consulting (HCMC) for their outstanding work representing Cura as Senior Construction Manager on the Las Olas River House (LORH) remediation project. Sam and the HCMC team brought a depth of experience, professionalism, and attention to detail that ensured this complex, high-profile project was managed efficiently and effectively. Their ability to coordinate with ownership, contractors, and consultants while keeping the project on track was instrumental in moving the remediation forward with clarity and confidence. What impressed me most was HCMC’s ability to navigate the unique challenges of a large-scale occupied condominium remediation. Sam demonstrated not only technical expertise but also strong communication skills, balancing the needs of residents, the board, and the contractor while maintaining Cura’s best interests at the forefront. The leadership and problem-solving brought to the table made a measurable difference in both the quality of execution and the confidence of all stakeholders. I would not hesitate to recommend HCMC for any future remediation or construction management project.
